Oil Fill
by: FloridaBoy

Complete fill took 40 oz (aprox)
It was amazing how fast the last 8 oz brought it up.
Must be the shape of the crankcase.? ?
The folks that import them (SHOULD) be a better possibility for an answer rather than just pure speculation? But I'll trust the sight glass for now.

Oil level in CN 560 V
by: Bill

That the Central Pneumatic manual says their oil sump will fill with 24 oz and you've added 32 oz and still cannot see the oil in the sight glass is a problem with the manual and not with the advice to fill the oil sump so that the oil level in the sump is at the middle of the sight glass circle.

As you feel that the advice you found on my site is incorrect, calling Harbor Freight is a good suggestion. Much luck with that. They are the seller. The manufacturer is???

Regardless, fill your compressor sump to whatever level you wish. It is, after all, your compressor to do with as you will.

Oil capacity
by: FloridaBoy

I just had the exact same experience. I have the CN 560V Model of the C.P. line. The manual says 24 oz.
1 qt didn't bring it up on the sight glass even. At $7 a qt it is discouraging. Obviously something was lost in translation and your advice is somewhat questionable in my opinion. Call the mfg would have been better. The ph # is in the manual.

When I look at the 93274
by: Bill

I see the sight glass, and the oil should come to the middle of the dot in the middle of the sight glass.

Fill slowly until that level is reached.

Item # 93274 is the number on HRbor freight. The # I gave is on the unit. Thanks

CP compressor capacity
by: Bill

Hmmm, don't find that model. However, are you saying that when you add oil to the sump, adding the recommended amount does not bring the oil level in the sump to the center of the sight glass?

It has a sight glass. It was at proper level before I drained it. Modal # CN560V. Thanks

CP Oil capacity

Assuming you have the right manual, I'd go with what the manual says, Michael.

You don't indicate the model so I cannot check. Does your compressor have a sight glass for the oil sump, or is it using a dip stick?
