oil capacity for an old sears and robuck compressor

got an old sears and robuck compressor, twin cylinder, 13.8 cfm, 125 psi max, 30 gallon tank, 240 volt 5 h.p motor, i not sure if the round piece on the side used to be a sight glass of some kind, about 3 inches above the base of the crankcase on the oil fill side, or it could just be a seal, but nonetheless i cant see through it anyways, i am trying to find the oil capacity for the pump, no visible model number or anything like that anywhere on it. do you have any idea roundabout what the capacity might have been for this particular setup? sorry i cant be of any more help with model number, its at least 15-20 years old.

thanks, craig

It's posted for you Craig.

If it was a round, see into the sump, sight glass, can you remove it? Typically, oil would be filled to the center of that type of glass, and with it removed, by adding oil until it came out the hole, you might at least get an idea.

Cheers,

Bill
