california air compressor model 10020

Bill,

I have a california air compressor model 10020. My mother bought it for me at an auction site. It is brand new out of the box. The motor runs great but does not build any pressure in the tank. I pulled the line coming from the motor to the check valve on the tank and there seems to be very little pressure. I can close it off with my finger with now problem. Any suggestions would help greatly.
Thanks,
Mike

california air compressor not building pressure

You checked the discharge from the pump to the tank and noted that there was little or no pressure.

Now, check the pump intake to see if it's drawing air in.

If you see the troubleshooting pages you'll find one about why air compressor don't build pressure. Have a look at that for more things to check.

From the image you submitted the compressor pump looks like it might be a Thomas Wob-L piston, and if my guess is right, you can get more info and possible parts for it from them: www.gd-thomas.com/.
