No pressure buildup on new Campbell Hausfeld compressor

by Kelly Burnham

The compressor is brand new and appears to pump ok but will not generate any pressure. Could they have forgotten to install a Check Valve on this unit?

I have turned the pressure regulator dial all the way in either direction with no change.

The drain valve is closed.

When pulling the relief valve only a small amount of air expels.

It has a 240 volt motor so I installed a 20 amp 2 pole breaker, which I'm fairly certain is installed correctly.

Model: VT718205AJ
S/N: L9/22/2014-00123
Pump: VT470000KB
240V/15A/60HX/1PH
3.2 HP 20 Gallon

Thanks,
Kelster

(Is this a new model? I don't find it online. I find the pump, though.)

Check valve would be a likely problem for a used one, but rare for a new one.

Do you see it has one? If it does or not, two choices:
Remopve and test/fix it, or, return it all for a new compressor.

I'm guessing you don't want to return it for logistical reasons, but that may make sense if it has problems.

Do you have a parts list for it?
