New motor woes.

I put a new motor on my air Compressors when from 10 to 14 horse now the motor turns Compressors 3 or 4 times then stops

Hey Joe. When you say "the motor turns Compressors 3 or 4 times then stops " do you mean that the sheave turns 3 or 4 revolutions, then stops?

How does it stop? Does the motor stop, does the motor stall, a bit more info would be good, please.
