I HAVE A DAYTON SPEEDAIR COMPRESSOR, THE MOTOR IS SOUND, BUT THE TANK HAS A SMALL LEAK. CAN THE TANK BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED. THANK YOU JULIA HAWAII

Bill says...Hi Julia. The answer is yes, and yes!
If the tank is primarily sound, and it has a small leak, that might be welded. I would be concerned about where the small leak came from, though.
If it is a spontaneous leak, that might represent a potential major failure of the tank, if it is corroding from the inside out, and, that being the case, do yourself a favour and get a new tank.
You may find though that the cost of the new tank and the installation might be close to the cost of a replacement compressor.
Check with Speedaire (see the link from the home page) to find out if they can supply a tank and what the price is. Compare that with buying a new, similar compressor.
Cheers,
Bill
