Need to know size of compressor

Need to know size of compressor for minimum of 7 and maximum of 15 cfm @ 80 psi. Application is for a sandblaster.

Hi Larry. Your answer is posted here for others to see as well.

The rule of thumb is you get about 4 CFM of compressed air at 90 PSI for each HP of motor size.

That being the case, even my elemental math tells me that you will need at least a 4HP compressor, and if it were me, I'd go to 7.5 HP as you are assuredly going to be using more, not less, compressed air as time moves on.
