Need motor assembly for Central Pneumatic compressor 47065/94667:

Compressor:

I have a central pneumatic 47065 air compressor which needs a replacement motor assembly. The motor runs for 5-10 seconds very slowly and has a burning smell. This occurs whether the motor is cold or warm. Because it runs for a short spell, it heats up quickly. I've taken the casing apart and found the windings are burnt on each end of the housing around the armature. I bought this unit from a friend and was told the motor needs to be checked. I've contacted Harbor Freight parts and spoken to support personnel. The man told me to replace the motor assmbly but that they are no longer available.

The 47065 and 94667 models are the same. If anyone could part with their motor please let me know. I really don't want to buy a new compressor, but????. Support said the new assembly if available would cost $40.00. Thanks.

Dangerous Defect in 47065
by: Anonymous

I had the same issue and discovered the insulation on the wires connecting the windings to the capacitors completely deteriorated and turned to dust in about 2 years. I replaced the wires but the motor still had a dead short internally. It likely is not worth the cost of replacing the motor since the whole compressor only cost about $150 at Harbor Feeight.

I have the part you are looking for. I cracked the piston shaft on mine and was planning on just using the tank to go inline with another compressor since I can't find the parts to repair it cheaply and easily. If you are still interested email me at lowfi09@gmail.com
