Newly acquired orphan Colt/Quincy 160-D need info.

I designed a air powered rotary well drilling contraption. My little Sears 6hp 60 gal oilless just doesn't have what it takes to run it properly. I figure I am going to need about 90 lbs at 20 cfm.

I just stumbled on a Colt/Quincy tow behind with a 4 cyl diesel. It would be perfect for my projects if I can restore it. The compressor is a rotary of some type. It was parked for 10 years and the engine is seized and had water in at least one of the cylinders so I am in the process of pulling the head to see just how bad it is.
I removed the exhaust manifold. Used a little flexible inspection video camera on the exhaust ports and found that 3 were closed and only one was open.
I blew out the water from the open cylinder, squirted some Sea-Foam and PB penetrate in there and forced a rubber stopper in the exhaust port with a schrader valve and pressure gauge. The idea was to drive the penatrant around the piston and rings a little faster.
The horror was I heard water bubbling in the radiator.
I am going to say a little prayer that it is only a leaky head gasket and not a cracked block or head.

I posted a need for a manual (with pictures and engine numbers) but any information I can get would be like finding gold as I am not getting responses from any inquiries as yet.

HELP Please! ;-)

kubota Diesel trailer compressor

by jordan
(anderson indiana)

after 10 minutes of running, voltmeter does not work, all others do

Diesel trailer compressor, starts, runs for about 30 minutes then shuts off, is not over heating and oil pressure is fine. All wires are fine and alternator tested and passed

I'm happy to post this for you Jordan. Sounds like it's time to visit the mechanic, though, perhaps someone with a similar compressor out there can add their comments?

Since the volt meter goes out too, I wonder if you have a heat related short?

Good luck,

Bill
