My task force air compressor won't pump air out of hose

I have a task force air compressor and every component of it seems to work fine, except the fact that it won't pump the air out of the hose after the tank is full and the engine turns off.Do you have any idea what could be causing this problem. There doesn't seem to be any blockages anywhere,so what is your professional oppinion of the possible problem? THANKS, KELLY in N.C.
