My compressor wont stop building pressure. It will not cut off when the tank pressure is full.

I have a Jenny dual tank will barrow type compressor. It pump pressure fine but just dosn't stop building pressure. I change the pressure regulator but it still does the same thing.

Hi Paul.

The regulator's purpose is to reduce the air pressure to your air application downstream from the compressor, not to control the air pressure in the compressor tank. More on regulators here.

The device that controls the starting and stopping of the air compressor is the pressure switch. More on pressure switches here.

It sounds to me like you need a new pressure switch.

Cheers,

Bill
