my compressor wont build enough pressure and cut out.

hi there, i have a Clarke Air Compressor - SE25C 200.
it was bought new around 18 months ago. it was working fine until i drained it a week ago. now it wont build up to its full pressure and cut out. it keeps running and running and builds up around 140 psi but it was normally building to 150 the cut out. im not sure whether it could be a problem with the cut out switch, or whether the tank isn't acually filling. i have checked for leaks and there doesnt seem to be any.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Carl

Carl, there are a few things that will cause an air compressor to continue running, and yet not build up air pressure past a certain pressure level.

On this page is a link to these reasons. They are posted already, so there isn't much point in retyping them.

The link is in this sentence: "I've just added a page that summarizes many of the answers about why a compressor won't build pressure. That page is right here."

Cheers,

Bill
