My (compressor) motor runs then shuts off and then back on and off again

I have a 2hp craftsman compressor and it starts out fine and around 25lbs of pressure it turns off and back on and off again. It continues to due this and builds up pressure real slow. What is the problem?

Hi Tony.

Have a look at the Pressure Switch page, linked from the nav bar.

This is the device that turns the compressor on and off, usually once at a low pressure cut in, and off once, at the high pressure cut out, until the pressure in the tank drops again.

From what you describe, I think your pressure switch has a problem.
