my compressor does not start up again when it drops pressure to 100 psi

the tank needs to be empty in order for the compressor to build pressure but it only builds pressure once 150psi then i use it and it turns on again at 100psi butthe motor hummmmms it wont turn over to build pressure th MY BREAKER POPS EVERYTIME its driving me crazy ( its a 17 gallon tank)

Easy Kris, don't go crazy. If you read the Troubleshooting pages linked from the site map, you'll find that your compressor problem may be quite common.

First, do this, then comment here with the results...

Empty the tank, start the compressor, and watch the unloader valve as the tank pressure nears cut out. Can you tell from watching / listening if it actually unloads? If you are not sure what the unloader is, see the link from Valves off the site map page.

Let me know what happens, please?
