My Brute 10 gallon will not cut off

The pressure switch does not cut off/cut in the motor just keeps running

While the compressor is running, what is happening to the pressure level in the tank? Is it rising, falling, or staying the same. If the same, what pressure is it staying at?

Cheers,

Bill

Brute Compressor Just won't shut off.

The pressure is staying the same (approx 100-110)and I believe the pressure cut off is higher. There is no leakage of air from the tank. And, when the pressure gets up to about 90-100 you can smell what smells like burning oil, but the oil level is not going down.

I don't think you have a pressure switch issue. I suspect your have a valve or gasket problem. If you go to the site map page, and the Troubleshooting section, follow the links to Will Not Build Pressure for some tips. Comment here if you have more questions after reading that material.
