motor hums and bogs

I have an electric portable 125psi single tank compressor and it was running fine until last week. Now when I turn it on it just makes a low hum straining noise but wont product air.

Hi Melanie. First thing to do is pull the plug and then drain all the air from the tank.

Close the tank drain.

Plug in and / or switch on the air compressor. Does it start?
