Motor froze up

Motor hums when turned on.

Sometimes I hum when I'm turned on too! :-)

Check your start capacitor. If it's OK, then you motor is toast, as long as there is enough current coming down the wire to the compressor motor.

Make sure other appliances aren't sucking up all the juice.
