Hello Bill

My MCV172 Michelin 1.1 HP Is not starting.
I have read through the FAQ's and can't seem to figure out what is wrong with my compressor.

Originally I thought it was the fact that the pressure relief valve had been taken off. I purchased a new pressure relief valve and installed it.

The problem is I plug it into a working socket and and I hear a click from the button which says push to reset circuit breaker. So I have looked at that but then I also see that where my oil is the top piece seems banged up and I'm not sure if it is one or the other.

Please let me know if you could help. Any advice you could give would be most appreciated

Aaron, neither the PRV or the oil fill tube / cap should have any effect on the compressor starting.

Good that you installed a PRV though, as without it if the pressure switch fails you risk a catastrophic failure of the tank.

Have a look in the troubleshooting section and find the page about why air compressors will not start. Lots of things noted there that you can check, and when done, post a comment here with your findings if you wish.
