Debbie, first thing to check is your power supply. Make sure you are not using an extension cord, and that no other appliances are using power at the same time your compressor is.
Second, unplug it, dump all the air out of the tank ( a good time to check the PRV ) and try to start it. Any change?
If the compressor starts, let it run to full pressure, bleed off the air slowly, and let it try to restart. If it blows the breaker again, bleed all the air out of the tank to zero PSI and try to start it again.
If it starts with zero pressure in the tank but will not with tank pressure, that suggests your unloader valve isn't working.
If the compressor still won't start, go to the TROUBLESHOOTING page and click the link to "blows breakers or fuses" for some more checks. Post here as a comment to tell me what you have found, please.
Cheers,
Bill
