Loss Of Power/ Pressure On Speedaire Compressor

I have a Speedaire single stage 20gal compressor. When I use my impact gun it starts to loose power the longer you hold the trigger on. It has the action as if you were turning down the pressure regulator while using, and if you were to use a blow gun you also can tell the pressure is decreasing.

The minute you release trigger and pull it again it will start out powerfully and rapidly decrease again.

I have tried playing with regulator that is part of the pressure switch and that does not make a difference.

Low pressure

This could also be caused by a restriction in the airline, anywhere from the tank onward.
You might try a different hose or even plug a tool directly into the connector on the compressor to see what happens then.

Pressure loss on Speedaire

Bruce, I don't know what you mean by "I have tried playing with regulator that is part of the pressure switch"?

There should be an air regulator in the line from the tank to the discharge coupler. I suspect that this regulator is failing.
