Leaking air through weep hole.

I have some regulators that are leaking through their weep holes. Are they made to leak through the weep holes (all the time)? Or does this mean that the diaphragm has gone bad in them?

"Leaking" air pressure regulator

Well Terry, assuming this is a new problem on your compressor, and you haven't replaced the regulator and installed it with the flow path reversed, then I would think that your regulator diaphragm has been cracked or pierced, and it's time to replace it, or the whole regulator.

I have the same problem with an air pressure regulator on an upright 20 gallon, 5 h.p. compressor. The regulator works, in that it raises and lowers the pressure, however it leaks constantly; even when the compressor is not running. I cannot stop it even when dialing the pressure all the way up.

Is it happening all the time, when the compressor is running, when it's stopped, or both?
