Kobalt compressor will not cut off prv going off at180psi

It is a kobalt 30 gallon,2horsepowerelectric compressor.the prv valve goes off when it hits 180psi. The model #is vt638900aj(agmos),serial#isL2/25/2013-80672,pump#isvt480000av,scfm is6.5@40psi,5.5@90psi,and 155psi at max

Kobalt compressor won't cut off

Allen, you know the normal cut out of the compressor.

Using a multimeter, check the motor side of the pressure switch when the pressure in the tank reaches and then passes the normal cut out.

Of the pressure switch doesn't cut the power to the motor circuit at the normal cut out pressure setting, it's likely time for a new switch.
