Kicks breaker out on start up

Kicks breaker on start up i think compassor bad.

Well Rick, something's bad, that's for sure.

On start up, do you mean when the pressure drops to cut in pressure, or there is no air in the tank and when you turn it on or plug it in, the breaker pops.

Could be a pressure switch, motor starter or motor issue, unless the whole compressor head is seized.

How long does it take for the breaker to pop?

A bit more information would help me point you to the possible cause.
