kaeser dsd202 problems

I have a kaeser dsd202 and it gives me a backpressure problem which results in the compressor to not start.

The belt seems ok as well as the coupling. Any thoughts on this?

Back pressure
by: Carl

No Doug he's saying that the pressure in the sep tank isn't venting down or isn't venting down quickly enough before it needs to go onload again, so either the vent valve isn't working properly or the MPV is stuck open

Venting?
by: Carl

Yep, it means the separator tank (where the oil is) isn't venting the air when it goes offload.

You need to check the vent valve diaphragm isn't split (its inside a brass square valve attached to the separator vessel), also check the vent valve solenoid itself, that is on the same valve, you may need to replace the solenoid.

If those are all ok, check the MPV isn't stuck open, you need to get a compressor engineer to do that as it is very dangerous if you try and take it apart incorrectly as the spring is under huge pressure and can be fatal on these machines.

Hope that helps

kaeser dsd202 backpressure problem?
by: Doug in s.d.ca

So, are you saying the compressor complains that it's at setpoint pressure, so it won't start?

Is there a valve on the output to the receiver?
Maybe it's closed...

Otherwise, more info - like any other indications on the controller?
