JOHN DEERE GAS -20GAL.AIR COMPRESSOR # AC1-20GS( OIL/VENT FILLER PORT

Hi.I have just purchased a John Deere, model AC1-20GS gas air compressor. When I went to add oil,we noticed what appeared to be a marble( like kids usually play with ) inside the vent/filler port on the side of the cast iron pump.Is this specifically there for a reason, maybe to prevent oil from blowing back up the tube,or,should it be removed? This was not specified in the manual.

Don't know for sure, but it sounds like a float valve, that will block the port when the unit is running?

Anyone else?

I can't see it being in there by accident.

Cheers,

Bill
