Is it better to have the least amount of bends when plumbing for compressed air?

We recently put a new compressor in our factory to replace our old one, but did not do any new plumbing. I took a look at what's in place and found miles of what seems to be excess pipe, filled with loops and bends. I believe I could re-pipe everything with hundreds of feet less pipe and increase my compressor efficiency.

Looking for another opinion.

Bill says...

As a general rule, less pipe and fittings is better than more, when it comes to compressed air.
