It just keeps building...

If the pressure in the tank increases past the normal cut out pressure of the pressure switch, and the compressor keeps running until the PRV lets go, then it's almost always the pressure switch that is pooched.

If you've change the pressure switch on your IR T-30, what is the cut out pressure setting? If you got a switch with an adjustable cut out, then it's possible that the setting is higher than the previous cut out pressure, in fact, it could be higher than the PRV setting.

So, if the pressure switch is adjustable, adjust the cut out setting to the correct pressure and test it.

If the pressure switch settings are not adjustable, and the cut in & cut out settings are the same as the old switch, then either the new pressure switch is not wired properly, or it's failed too.

Billy, is it that the pressure is not getting to the cut out pressure setting even though the air compressor is still running?

Or is it that the air compressor runs, the pressure in the tank goes higher than the cut out pressure and then PRV lets go?
