IR is running Red hot !!

Anyone know why my IR is running red hot. It runs fine for 15 minutes then cuts out. The outside temperature is 30C so that may be contributing to the problem but is there any other reason it is running hot or can anyone suggest what I should check for?

Investigations

Thank you for that. There is certainly enough oil so I will have to try it on the level and on the tilt to see if it does the same with me as my friend claims it did with him.
I'll be back ........

On the tilt?

A level compressor is best, but most can run OK up to maybe 10 degrees off, assuming there's enough oil of course.

Thank you for your reply. I am not sure, I lent it to a friend who said it ran for 15 minutes then cut out but started again after 20 minutes. I will have to see for myself how it is behaving. I will come back to you after investigations. I know about troubleshooting JCB's and farm machinery but the compressor is a new thing in my life so I may be in need of frequent advice.
Maybe you can tell me if the compressor has to be on level ground or can it run 'on the tilt'?
Thank you
