Intercompressor, Inc, compressor does not start

I have a portable compressor 3-in-1 series 200 from (patent pending)from Intercompressor, Inc, Culver City , CA.

The light works, and the compressor makes noise, but the guage does not move and there appears to be no change in air pressure in the tire.

This is a single unit with a plug for the lighter and a valve shaped head to attach to the tire valve, with a small lever at the top. there is a small head in side this valve part that receeds when the small lever is elevated, depresses when the lever is flat on the top of the valve.

There seems to be no mechanism to set the guage, which stays at 0. Is there a piece missing...? should I just take it to an auto store and be prepared to buy a new one??? I no longer have the box in which it came several years ago. Thanks. Debbie5/14/11

Hi Debbie.

I can find no information on your air compressor at all. Sorry. I don't know the brand, but it sounds like it's a low end, emergency air compressor for filling tires, and, that being the case, is probably inexpensive to replace, and expensive to fix, if you can even find parts.

I just chucked one like this out recently when it stopped working. My advice is to consider doing the same with yours.
