intake valve

Builds pressure to about 35 pounds then wont build any more and keeps running, but if you turn the unit upside down and kick it, it will fill the rest of the way up and cut off when full.

Daniel, you turn your compressor upside down and kick it? Hmmmm?

I take it that its not an oil lubed unit?

Maybe have a look at this page about why compressors won't build pressure.
