Instrument air supply tubing

for instrument air supply we use 1/2" tubing or 3/8 " tubing but it is found in many hook up dwg. isolation valve size and tubing size reducess we use 1/4" ball valve and 1/4" tubing.

why the hook up is like that?

What is the problem with your system? Are you not getting enough air flow?

I am afraid I do not know what you mean by "why the hook up is like that?". I don't have your drawing to review, nor did I make the one you have.

Pipe/tube size change

I think what you are saying is you have a main supply coming from large tubes, that go into smaller 1/4 inch valves and then continue to the device in 1/4 tube to the tool or whatever?

Take a look at the pages on plumbing a garage...supply lines are bigger than at the outlets.

I thing what you have is the same idea.

If not, a more specific example of what you are talking about would probably help.

my manifold needs to connect to the pressure switch assembly...

broken manifold on a pancake air compressor. otherwise works fine. my manifold needs to connect to the pressure switch assembly. seems like that beginning part must be exactly the same ?

Tom, thanks for including the photo. It looks to me like the pipe that threads into the tank, and to which the pressure switch is connected to, is white metal or cast metal, and I doubt you can repair it.

However, it looks to me like the mounting base for the pressure switch is threaded on to the casting.

If that is the case, unscrew the pressure switch base from the broken part, and visit your plumbing supply store. Check out their brass nipples, reducers, tee's, etc., and I'll bet you can build a replica of the broken part that will work just fine.

That might be easier than trying to source a spare part.
