Ingersoll Rand T30 5HP 230 volts Air Compressor - "snapping" sound

by Roberts
(Bend OR)

Above air compressor recently began making a "snapping" sound when machine starts running. What could be causes??????? Serious, not serious . . . thanks!!!

My Roberts, that's a tough one.

It "snaps" once, makes a series of snapping noises, the sound comes from the pressure switch, the belt, the compression head...hmmmm, I'm afraid I'll need a bit more info before I can provide any advice. Sorry.

Bill

Bleed the tank.

I have a IR five horse power, 60 gal tank. There's a valve at the bottom of the tank. Which part do you unscrew to let the water out of the tank.
