IR T30 5 HP 220V single phase capacitorless compressor will not start

by Jim Hand
(Columbus, IN)

after working fine for ages one day my compressor IR T30 5 HP 220V single phase capacitorless compressor will not start.

it is getting 220 VAC through the fused disconnect to the relay so it's not blown fuses.

nothing looks amiss as in loose wires or anything damaged.

the tank is totally empty- no pressure.

it just won't start. nothing clicks, buzzes, or hums. nothing has been adjusted, replaced, moved, etc. i am the only person who uses it and is anywhere around it. one day it worked and the next day it didn't.

i don't see any reset on the relay and there isn't one anyplace else I can see that's tripped.

Ingersoll Rand 2475 Kawasaki Gas Compressor - won't start - no fuel?

by Jason
(Mt Holly Springs, PA)

Ingersoll Rand 2475 Kawasaki Gas Compressor. The compressor had a massive oil leak coming out the case.

I disassembled the engine replaced the gasket put everything back together.

I tried to start the engine it will turn over but not start.

I verfied the plug is firing. Seems like getting no fuel. I can get it to start with a little shot of starting fluid but will die as soon as the starting fluid is burned up.
