ingersoll rand 2475n7.5

I replaced the motor on a IR 2475n7.5 compressor, but not sure what the proper rotation should be. I have no manual as the compressor was inherited. Which way should the belt rotate? Second question, what is the correct tension for the belt. Deflection test? How much? Lastly, do you you sell a flexible discharge hose to plumb the compressor to the filter/regulator? thanks.

Hello Jeff.

I can't tell you for sure on your motor. My motor shaft turns counter-clockwise looking toward the motor from the end of the shaft.

As to belt rotation, it depends on where the motor is in relation to the pump. My guess is counter-clockwise looking at the pump sheave, but I can't tell you for sure. Sorry.

On the belt, 1/2" - 3/4" deflection should be good, but again, find the IR site and get their specs. Mine are a rule of thumb, and I don't have their specifics.

Jeff, while my advertisers might sell hose, I don't. Depending on how you want to connect them all together, you can't go wrong with a good quality rubber hose, but then you are into hose barbs etc. What's the I.D. of the existing pipe. That's the I.D. of the hose you should buy. More info on hose is here, and check out the Fittings pages for info on barbed fittings, couplers, connectors etc.

Cheers,

Bill

I have the same model. Looking from the back of the motor it should turn counter clock wise. If you have your hand on the on-off switch looking through the compressor you will see it turn counter clock wise.
Hope you have already frigured it out by now.If not you cannow.
