Ingersoll 100 won't stay running

by Chris

My compressor is from 1985 I believe. I have to hold in two buttons to start the compressor. It starts just fine but is soon as I let the buttons go it turns off. If I stand there and hold the buttons in it will stay running as long as I do. Any ideas what this could be?

Quite likely a loose connection or bad sensor.

Take a look here:

http://www.about-air-compressors.com/support-files/185.pdf

That's for a p185, but should be pretty similar to your unit.

There are suggestions for things to check there, and if that's no help, or you get stuck, comment with what you've found, or not, and we'll see what we can come up with.

Good luck.
