In Line Air Filters
Does a coalescing filter do a good job of removing moisture from the air lines?

Bill says....In a word, no!
Coalescing filters are primarily designed to remove oil from compressed air streams.
They have very find elements that trap oil particles, and as such, should be installed downstream from a general purpose filter which will first remove free water and particulates from the air stream, pre-cleaning it, before the air gets to the coalescent filter.
Which isn't to say that a coalescent filter won't take out some free water if it's in the air stream, it's just not intended to.
Cheers,
Bill
