If you have a pressure relief valve on an Air dryer do you still need one on the Tank?

Jack, hope the answer does too! :-)

In theory, if nothing interfered with the flow of compressed air from the compressor and tank, and the dryer was part of the whole circuit, and you had only a PRV on the dryer, that should protect the whole system.

However, since the PRV's use no power and provide redundant levels of protection, with no downside that I can see, it were my setup, I would be adding PRV's to circuits instead of removing them. Or, at the very least, leaving all of them in the existing compressed air circuit. That way, if one pooches on you, you have backup.

Cheers,

Bill
