I used the wrong oil and it foamed up

Russ, if it were my unit, I'd replace the bad oil with the right stuff, run it for a while, then change the oil again.

Depending on the scenario you may have to do this more than once.

I'm not saying that's the best solution... just what I'd do if it were me.
