i plug the 919.152921 in, it runs for a few seconds then trips the -fuse.

its a sears craftsman model919.152921.

when i got it the plug in end was missing the ground prong and the other 2 blades were burnt at the ends so i replaced the plug and i plug it in it runs good for a few seconds then trips the fuse which is a smaller double 20 amp and only one side trips.

next thing i'm going to try is a different location that has a single 20 amp.

probably should have done that before i wrote you.

but if that still doesn't do it any suggestions ? thanks very much

What Bill said, and while you're at it, might be a good idea to double-check the connections at the motor switch end of the cord to make sure it's not messed up as well. Possibly even replace the cord; if it's weak, that could cause a short when it warms up from trying to power the motor.

Burnt plug on 919.152921

I would guess from what you've written that you have a short in the compressor electrical system.

It may be a capacitor problem as if the wires are loose that could short.

I'm guessing it may be in the motor.

I wouldn't be plugging this compressor in again it were mine until I had it completely checked for electrical problems.
