I just bought a used 185 I/R towable

by Rick
(Upland CA.)

This unit runs great, but it will not build any air?

Am I missing something? or do I have a bigger problem?

Thanks for any help.

will not build air

Doug, I just finished the repairs, and It was not bad at all! 9 bolts and it fell out! and there was the bad part. I got it from Volvo parts, that is were you get the trailer compressors part for the I/R brand. It was a little pricey about $1,200.
but it works fine. thanks for the info.

used 185 I/R towable pump

Not that I'm aware of, but I've never actually done it myself.

I can only suggest the usual caution about paying attention to where stuff goes when you take it apart.

Good luck and let us know how you get on...

Thanks, Doug, I will pull the pump out as soon as
I get a day. Is there any thing to watch out for
as I remove the pump? Will be the first time that I have got into the compressor!

There's usually a rubber coupler between the engine and screw - some times they break.
