i have a speedaire 5 hp 2 stage compressor ... It takes longer to fill

It takes longer to fill the tank and air does not stop coming out of the unloader. And I can hear air coming through the intake. Would that be a bad check valve or something else?

It sounds as though your Speedaire air compressor may have more than one problem.

For the air bleeding out of the unloader, read the page on CHECK VALVES to explain why this may occur.

That problem could also be a failing pressure switch not allowing the unloader valve to shut.

When you say you hear air coming through the intake, I'm not quite sure what this means. Is air coming out of the intake port while the compressor is running? Pull the intake filter to check this out.
