Husky Q26 26 gallon, compressor Motor fried - cannot find replacement

by Weirdnerd
(Somewhere in Colorado)

after a nice fireworks display, smoke and a little flame, my oil less compressor motor died, I tried to find a replacement online, but after three hours of searching, nothing appeared, even campbell hausfeld , which supposedly made it for home depot, has discontinued the part that was 126 bucks for the whole stupid assembly, piston, belt and motor all rolled into a little ball, (almost 60% of the price of a full new compressor), they don't make it anymore, so no matter if you want to spend the money, they will not be able to sell it to you.

anyone knows where do I find a new motor model 160-0308?....it's all I got from the charred motor corpse....

The compressor model is Husky Q26 ( quiet series) 26 gallon upright portable model.

I'm happy to post this for you Mr. Nerd, and am sorry for the fireworks as your compressor motor melted down. I hope someone can come up with a replacement.

Have you tried the local electric motor rebuild shop?

Cheers,

Bill

Voiding a useless warranty
by: Weirnderd

I am on phase one of completely voiding whatever warranty that POS had, I am going to a surplus store to find a 1.5 hp motor with the same shaft thickness, cutting the cover and making a motor support for it, husky can say bye bye to a former customer.

Don Quixote has nothing on you, my friend. Your concept is valid! The compressed air pump doesn't care where the drive comes from as long as it fits, and ditto for the air gauges and regulators and discharge coupling. Do what you have to do to make it work, as long as it's safe. Good luck and keep us posted please.
