Husky Piston Seal replacement with off brand

Husky HPA1581909.01 or 136424

I would love to find a complete rebuild kit but it seems the only part listing is the entire motor assembly. This is not an option as I could buy a whole new compressor for the price of the motor.

Can I replace the seal with a generic-same size seal?

If it were me, I would have no problem swopping seal suppliers. A seal is a seal is a seal, as long as the replacement is as resistant to heat as the original.

I'd do it. What's worse case scenario. You have to do it again?

Take the old one with you to an auto parts store, and ask if they have material from which you can make one, or a seal making kit.
