Husky Model # H1503TP does not cut off and continues until PRV blows.

My Husky Model # H1503TP continues running until it reaches max. press. of 155PSI and beyond until PRV releases pressure.

I have replaced the pressure switch, part #9063217 and it did not correct the problem.

At $20 + it seems I could buy new compressor cheaper than replacing switches.

Husky Model # H1503TP cut off
by: Bill

Emmett, if the power is still flowing to the motor circuit when the tank pressure passes the cut out set point of the pressure switch, then sorry, but it's the pressure switch that is the problem.

With the power off, please pull the cover to ensure that you have the wires connected to the correct terminals. The supply wires go onto the supply side of the switch and the motor wires go onto the motor side.

If these have been accidentally changed, then power will flow across the switch even if it trips, leading to an air compressor that won't shut off.

If the wires are correct and you get a voltage reading on the motor side of the switch when the pressure is past cut out, then the switch itself has likely failed.
