Husky HS781003AJ compressor

I have a Husky 4hp 80 Gallon Compressor (model #HS781003AJ) that blows the motor breaker or box breaker seconds after start up.

It runs on 220 and has worked fine for over 4 years.

Recently when I walked in the garage I realized that the breaker had blown, would flip it and it worked fine but today when I flipped the breaker the compressor motor would sound like it was straining or buzzing or turn a few times then blow one or both breakers.

Other information is I have recently changed the oil and the 220 plug is about 20in from the compressor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you,

Adam

Adam, the first thing I would do is empty the tank completely, and then try to start the compressor again. Any change?

If no change, then see the page on this site about checking the capacitors, as the start capacitor would be the next logical test I would make.

Cheers,

Bill
