Husky compressor running impact wrench

air wrench will not turn when air hose is connected and trigger is pulled w/o being attached to lug nut, it is as tho there is no air pressure and gage is registering 125 lbs. this just started the last time or two i tried to use it.

It has always removed nuts when broken loose with socket and pull bar and would run nuts up tight then had to use torque wrench to properly torque.

The compressor is 5.5 h p oiless husky, was wondering if it may be motor or a valve? as it won't blow dust grass off unless it gets below 120 lbs and kicks in to build back to 125 + lbs, hope this makes sense, it is about 5 yrs old. it has always performed well till now.

Thanks

Shut it down and drain all of the air out of the tank. Does the tank gauge drop to zero PSI too? If so, start the compressor again and let it run up to cut out. Does the pressure gauge indicate the correct cut out pressure level? I just want to be sure that you actually have the 125 PSI in your tank that the gauge says you do.

Next, what is the pressure setting on the regulator gauge, please? Is that pressure setting above the minimum operating pressure of the impact wrench? If not, dial up the pressure to that level.

Regarding "air wrench will not turn when air hose is connected and trigger is pulled w/o being attached to lug nut", you are saying that unless the lug nut fitting installed on the impact wrench is placed onto the lug nut, the impact wrench will not fire? Did it fire without being on an actual tire nut before?

This issue doesn't make any sense to me at all. Please give me some feedback as a comment here so I can follow the thread.

Cheers,

Bill
