Agnelo, as long as a new motor fits the mounts, has the same size motor shaft, and can interface with the compressor pump properly, then as far as I am concerned, the pump does not care what motor is running it.
If you wish to replace your 120 volt motor with a 240 volt, I cannot see any reason why not, as long as the new motor fits.
Will the pressure switch on your compressor toggle 240 volts rather than 120 volts? I would expect so, as it is just a relay. You need to watch that to make sure.
If you are trying to convert a 120 volt motor to a 240 volt, than can only be done if the motor is pre-wired to accept that conversion, and I do not know if that is the case for your compressor motor.
As to what motor you should use, I would remove the existing motor and take it with me to an electric motor shop, and ask them to provide you the same, in 240 volts, or, to check that motor to see if it can be converted.
Cheers,
