How do you hook up a Speedaire 4GNN1 auto drain-w/float?

I don't have any instructions, and want to hook up a Speedaire 4GNN1 auto drain w-float, to my 60 gallon air compressor, at the bottom drain.
Its not obvious which is input or output, or top or bottom, or what the screw does. For this to work, does it need to strictly mount below the absolut bottom of the tank, or can it mount slightly above? I am ready to bolt the tank to a slab, and need to know if I have to raise the tank an extra 5", or can it mount in a different orientation. Thanks.

Greg, I did respond to your other post. I did look at the Grainger site you referred to, and it sure is ambiguous.

I believe it will have to be in a vertical orientation, yet you can plumb out from under your tank drain if you don't want to raise the tank the full height to allow the install.

According to the Grainger site, it has a manual override. Plumb air to one of the port, and turn the override and see what happens. If it burps then it's likely the right port. If not, re-plumb it to the other port.
