how do you adjust the regulator valve?

Compressor will not build pressure above 100 psi. Its a Titan 5.5 hp, 8 gal. compressor

You adjust the regulator by turning the adjustment knob. Please see the page on Regulators for more detail.

However, you want to adjust the regulator, but it's not the regulator that's your problem. Your compressor is not building pressure due to one, or more, of a number of factors.

If you go to the Troubleshooting page, click the "will not build pressure" link, and follow the prompts on that page to see the list of reasons.
