i own a campbell hausefeild portable air compressor. as anyone knows they are quite loud. i know a little bit about making this thing into a silent compressor, but i would really like it if someone has already made the conversion and could give me a step by step instruction so i dont fry the motor. the compressor i own is oiless by the way.I know this conversion may involve a refridgerator motor. can anyone help?

Hi Christine....

Yup, they sure are noisy, aren't they.

Here is one page with info on silent compressors.

If it were me, due to the cost involved, I'd simply put the loud compressor inside a sound dampened box if it was too loud for where I wanted to work.

Anyone else care to comment on an air compressor "silent conversion"?

Cheers,

Bill
